Plant to Skate a Real Success

As part of the Blue Mountains Environment Festival local skateboarders were involved in a planting day at Lawson Skate Facility.

The day was organised by Council Bushcare and the Tumbling Waters Project and involved 20 local skaters. 150 trees were planted around the perimeter of Bellvue Park in Lawson.

Part of a campaign to develop a respectful use of skate parks, the day developed wide interest across the skating community.

After completing a planting session, participants received a free skate tuition from Sk8 Logic.

Chris Dewhurst, BMCC Bushcare Officer, said: "Skateboarders love their concrete parks, so it was great to see them coming out to improve the environment which surrounds them."
